The Canada Student Loans Program (CSLP) is a need based program designed to provide financial assistance to eligible students.

Student Aid BC

StudentAid BC (formerly the BC Student Assistance Program [BCSAP]) helps eligible students with the cost of their post-secondary education through loans, grants, bursaries, scholarships and special programs. StudentAid BC administers programs on behalf of the Government of Canada including Canada Study Grants, Canada Access Grants and bursaries from the Millennium Scholarship Foundation.

Highway conditions can rapidly change in BC, especially in the winter. If you are driving between communities to attend class or planning a trip out of the area, it is strongly recommended that you check what the latest highway conditions are first. BC Federation of Labour

The British Columbia Federation of Labour represents 470,000 members of affiliated unions in more than 1,100 locals, working in every aspect of the BC economy.

BC Government and Service Employees’ Union

The BCGEU is one of the most diverse unions in British Columbia. We represent approximately 65,000 men and women in more than 550 bargaining units. Our union can trace its beginnings back to the early 1900s when provincial government employees formed an association to address their working conditions. Since then, the union has organized thousands of workers outside the government service.

BC Teacher’s FederationThe British Columbia Teachers' Federation (BCTF) is the union of professionals representing 38,000 public school teachers across BC.

Council of CanadiansFounded in 1985, the Council of Canadians is Canada's largest citizens' organization and works to protect Canadian independence by promoting progressive policies on fair trade, clean water, safe food, public health care, and other issues of social and economic concern to Canadians.

Federation of Post-Secondary EducatorsThe Federation of Post-Secondary Educators of BC (FPSE) is the provincial voice for faculty and staff in BC colleges, university colleges and institutes, and in private sector institutions. FPSE member locals, including the Faculty Association of Selkirk College, represent over 10,000 faculty and staff.

Hospital Employees UnionWith about 40,000 members in over 300 health care facilities and agencies, the Hospital Employees' Union (HEU) is the oldest and largest union in health care in BC.

Tenants’ Rights Action CoalitionThe Tenants' Rights Action Coalition (TRAC) is a community-based coalition of groups and individuals working on behalf of B.C.'s one million tenants. TRAC works to improve legal protection for tenants, and to promote community action for the purpose of protecting and increasing the supply of affordable rental housing in B.C.

Kootenay Rideshare

The Kootenay Rideshare is a free service to the community that helps to connect riders and drivers. If you need a ride somewhere or if you could use some help with driving and costs, you can post a notice on the website.
